“My experience of delivering an encaustic workshop at Boundary Way was a precious one. We had a great time experimenting with the possibilities of combining encaustic wax with found materials.”

Artist Information

Rebecca Green is an artist and art teacher living and working in Wolverhampton. Her background training is in ceramics and 3D design and having graduated in 2001 from Wolverhampton University with first class honours, she has gone on to teach art in a special school for children with physical disabilities.

Rebecca’s own work ranges in approach due to her love of exploring new techniques and materials. Over the last 10 years she has developed her own practice through print making, painting and more recently encaustic wax (bees wax and damar resin). With a focus on the natural world, landscapes and surface textures her visual language aims to build in expression, depth and experience. This is attempted through gestural marks, layered paint and wax and also the process of scraping away to reveal what has been left behind, a sort of collection of abstract visual memories.

Rebecca really enjoys working in collaboration with other artists and sharing techniques that she has developed. This is a way of connecting through art and growing both professionally and personally.
