Having stitched since she was a very small child, and having a lifelong interest in fabric and thread, Elise produces mixed media textile pieces that have developed to combine painting, embroidery and fabric.
Artist Information
These pieces often use reclaimed or repurposed materials, frequently including found objects and donated items that would have been discarded otherwise. Her work reflects a deep rooted love of nature and the environment, and is currently evolving to use unusual viewpoints to engage more deeply with these themes. She is currently Chair of the Wolverhampton Branch of the Embroiderers Guild and is an enthusiastic advocate for embroidery who continues to look for ways to allow a wider section of the community to access embroidery in both an educational and enjoyable way
