Summer Solstice Folklore Learning & Seasonal Celebrations

As the Summer Solstice arrived on 21st June, Boundary Way Project were delighted to be able to mark this yearly seasonal event online with our community in a session led by local artist and folklorist Anne Marie Lagram.

The session beamed us into Anne Marie's Shropshire Garden, where we took a walk to explore plants and folklore associated with the Summer Solstice before an interactive making and sharing session. During the workshop, where we marked the longest daylight day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, Anne Marie demonstrated activities from creating simple floral circlet & natural amulets, to sharing how to make & decorate seasonal honey biscuits and construct a sun-wheel of seasonal plants. The results were beautiful and we are delighted to share some images of both Anne Marie's demonstrations and participants work inspired by this Summer Solstice Session in today's blog post.
