As part of the Boundary Way Project's new funding from the Culture Heritage Fund, we are delighted to be able to continue developing poetry as a medium to help make connections, explore seasonal heritage and engage with new audiences as part of our new programme.

Following on from our successful Summer poetry commission with the Poets, Prattlers and Pandemonialists, we are looking forward to working with another local group of poets in this upcoming Winter season. Today we will be exploring this group and uncovering the exciting poetry themed online events that will take place as part of our Winter Wonder programme.

We are thrilled to be working with the fantastic poets Kuli Kohli, Santosh Kumari and Priyanka Joshi from Wolverhampton’s Punjabi Women Writers group, who will each be creating a new poem inspired by nature, growing and the Winter Season. The group began in 2018 and over the last couple of years has grown in membership, undertaken successful writing workshops and has put on performances in Wolverhampton and Ironbridge, all of which have sparked a lot of attention. The writers group is dedicated to Punjabi Women in Wolverhampton and we are delighted to be working with Kuli, Santosh and Priyanka on this commission.

Kuli, Santosh and Priyanka, will join the Poets, Prattlers and Pandemonialists - Emma Purshouse, Dave Pitt and Steve Pottinger - to perform their new writing for the first time at Boundary Way’s first ever poetry evening. All six poets will come together in a free event to showcase a new collection of poems inspired by nature, green spaces and the Winter Season. It will be a celebration of seasons and spoken word and we hope that you will join us for this exciting event on 14th December from 7:30-9pm.

The evening is part of our Winter Wonder programme of online events, which is a continuation from the success of our summer 'Postcards from the Plot' project. As part of both seasonal projects, workshops with poets Emma and Steve have also enabled our audience to write poems of their own, inspired by their natural surroundings. These poems are honest and compelling, and as such, we are delighted that these writings will be shared during the evening too.

We're excited to see you at the Poetry Evening and hope you will book your free ticket by clicking here. This will allow us to give you access details for the Zoom session.
